The research group released on Wednesday its latest report which revealed that 65 percent of teenagers between 12 to 17 have profiles in social sites and 75 percent of young adults aged 18 to 24 use online community sites.
Pew surveyed 2,250 Internet users few months ago and found that only 35 percent of adults were using social sites.
While the number of adult using online communities is relatively small, this is a remarkable increase compared to 8 percent adult users in 2004.
The research group also discovered that as age increased, the less likely a person will join social network. In Pew’s findings, only 7 percent of people aged 65 and older are using social community sites.
